In my never ending quest to find something to distract me while I (im)patiently wait for season 3 of Game of Thrones to start, I was flipping through the channels and stumbled upon a show called “Splash.” “Splash” is the diving equivalent of “Dancing with the Stars” (don’t pretend you didn’t know that!) where iconic superstars such as Kendra Wilkinson, Drake Bell, Nicole Eggert and footballer/consummate gentleman Ndamukong Suh (how glad is the equipment manager that only the last name gets sewn on the jersey?!?) all compete in a diving competition.
Never one to turn away from elite athletes in the throws of competition, I immediately tuned in. As comedian and American treasure Louie Anderson was gliding to his fate, I had an epiphany. Just like this show filled a necessary and important void in the landscape of reality TV, it came to my attention that there was a shocking need for a new voice in health care (why hadn’t ANYONE else thought of this?). Before the water molecules had recovered–if it is in fact even possible to recover from a violation of this magnitude–my blog had been born.
I actually am filling two important niches. The first is to put the first ever health related blog on the internet, and the second is to give you more fodder for your inbox (I know that none of us have enough mail coming our way and every extra piece just makes us feel that much more important). My plan is to provide my patients, and anyone else brave enough to hit ‘click’, with up-to-date information on the latest trends in holistic care, dietary myths and facts, better ways to exercise and suggestions to help you navigate your way through the mine field of misinformation in the world of health and wellness. I keep up to date on all the latest medical and wellness journals (People Magazine, Oprah Magazine, TMZ…all the biggies) and hope to condense it all into an easy to read and understand format that can be accessed through our fancy new website. I thank you in advance for your readership and truly hope this can be of help.
Yours in Health,
Dr. Phil Spencer
